The novel combination of intelligent control and multiple energy carrier optimisation led to an InnovateUK ISCF feasibility study project with Durham University, Sunamp (Maurizio Zaglio maurizio.zaglio@sunamp.co.uk) and Moixa Energy (Chris Wright chris@moixaenergy.com). The concept was applied to prototype controllers for Sunamp’s & Moixa’s thermal / electrical energy storage products, with the long-term prospect of being included in their product provision. The expertise is being transferred to the industry through the CIGRE C1.47 Working Group on “Energy Sectors Integration and impact on power grids.

- This was published in a special issue of Elsevier Applied Energy. The novel combination of intelligent control and multiple energy carrier optimisation led to an InnovateUK Energy Catalyst feasibility study proposal (expected to be awarded soon) with Durham University, Sunamp (Maurizio Zaglio maurizio.zaglio@sunamp.co.uk) and Moixa Energy (Chris Wright chris@moixaenergy.com). It is also expected to lead to an EPSRC research project with Cardiff University and Durham University within 2017. The concept will be applied to prototype controllers for Sunamp’s & Moixa’s thermal and electrical energy storage products respectively. In the long term, it could be included in their product provision.
