- This paper introduces a new model of emotion for computing systems, which provides a more holistic representation of emotion. A new genetically optimized adaptive fuzzy logic approach is proposed that demonstrates a good trade-off between performance and interpretability. A user study design is also presented, which enables affective information collection for the new model. The emotion modelling methodology has been utilized to facilitate new research on the development of an emotion aware system for cardiovascular disease patients, funded by the European Regional Development Fund and Coventry and Warwickshire Innovation programme http://www.coventry.gov.uk/info/13/invest_in_coventry/2867/coventry_and_warwickshire_innovation_programme.
