- The paper reports a novel approach to fault location for a particular configuration, with detailed criteria based on the phase angle of sheath currents reported for fault diagnosis. Research work and international collaboration with a Chinese utility company. Presented as part of the plenary speech by Prof Chengke Zhou 2016 International Conference on Condition Monitoring and Diagnosis, attended by over 400. It helped GCU to win the award of research grant from Scottish Power Energy Network in 2019 in the same area. Results were applied to Suzhou Power company and successful fault localisation and analysis was included in the paper.
