- This paper introduces a framework for applying big data analytics to smart cities. It demonstrates a scenario in which open data is combined with big data analytics to enable effective decision-making in smart cities. The work is significant as it is the first application of big data analytics in a smart city context and provides the basis for further research such as incorporating real-time big data analytics in smart cities
