The evaluation of fetal biomarkers separating the genetically small babies from those suffering from growth restriction is paramount, but they are usually subtle and difficult even for skilled professionals. We propose an automatic measurement of the intima-media-thickness, one of the most significant biomarkers, increasing consistency and accuracy while reducing intra-operator variability, opening this subtle evaluation to primary. This work lead to a intra mural competitive grant from the University of Padova (TIGRE, Tackling Intrauterine Growth Restriction 2015-2017), was awarded a patent WO2013114186A1, EP2812882A1, and was used for the prediction of late-onset gestational hypertension (J. Medicine pe 5515, 2017)
