- This study is a joint theory-experiment collaboration involving beamline scientists and advanced characterisation methods accessed through user proposals at National Labs in the USA. The work was funded by Toyota Research Institute (brian.storey@tri.global) and is focused on replacing precious metal catalysts in hydrogen fuel cells. A patent application has been filed (Filed 5/23/2019, Appl. No. 16/420890, Licensee: Toyota) as a consequence of this work. Follow up studies (operando measurements) are currently underway at SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory via a user proposal accepted at SSRL.
