- Double-weighted statement
- The Colonizing Self presents an extended and complex thesis on homemaking in contexts of settler colonialism. It is based on mixed methodology, including comparative research, ethnographic work, theory, cultural analysis, and literary analysis. The ethnographic work was particularly difficult to conduct, as it included fieldwork in extremely violent settlements and conversations with settlers who are themselves violent and mistrust researchers. The mixed methods approach required research, collection, and analysis of a large body of materials across many disciplines and fields of knowledge, including theatre, settler colonial studies, philosophy, popular culture, geography, and was the outcome of a sustained research effort.
