- This work, funded by EPSRC (EP/J011525/1), proposes a distributed task allocation method, for the first time, explicitly optimising the global cost while considering task synergy effects. Empirical evaluations show how the method identified previously unidentified better solutions with the state-of-the-art consensus-based bundle algorithm. This has led to new threads of research, including a portfolio of IEEE Transactions publications and research grants AgriRobot (Innovate UK, https://gtr.ukri.org/project/182029FE-87BA-4DF9-B709-6D4262E18126 ) and YOBAN (Newton Fund https://gtr.ukri.org/projects?ref=102871).
