- Double-weighted statement
- This volume arises from a 3-year period of funded leave (2015-17), but it is also the summation of over 25 years’ reflection on the political lives of its two protagonists. The work draws upon and cites material from 36 different archives located across Ireland, Scotland and England (including some newly discovered documentation) and uses and cites material from 66 separate printed primary sources. Using these extensive materials, the work tackles the original and extensive analytical challenge of interpreting and comparing two contemporary political antagonists, hitherto assessed exclusively within separate nationalist and unionist conceptual frameworks.
