- The monograph develops a feminist Bourdieusian approach and applies it to a development context, the Indian state of Kerala. Based on intensive research in India and visits to the prestigious Centre for Development Studies, Kerala, over 4 years it articulates an important new area for scholarship in the area of gender studies through domains of work, household, migration, and violence. In addition to being pioneering scholarship, the study advances a new theoretical lens, much beyond patriarchy and intersectionality, and has been positively reviewed by leading feminist scholars in India.
