- Double-weighted statement
- This is a mixed-methods book of considerable scope. The field research was conducted between 2008 and 2017, and writing up that research in a genuinely comparative manner relied upon 148 face-to-face interviews across eight countries. This was supplemented by a survey run for the authors by a professional survey company, which reached >1,500 people. The survey responses – triangulated with the findings of print, television and online media sources – were analysed using multiple quantitative techniques. This all adds up to substantial research effort conducted over many years, and it is on this basis that the double-weighting justification rests.
