- This paper reported the development of the first Design Reuse Index capable of practical calculation of the probabilistic index on industrial product portfolios with millions of components. It led to the development of an industrial part analysis service with ShapeSpace [contact available]. The ability to easily compute the degree of component reuse across a family of products attracted the interest from National Manufacturing Institute Scotland [University of Strathclyde contact available] and led to collaboration to drive cost savings through part rationalisation and categorisation.
