- This 8-chapter, 328-page monograph is a long-form output that is the product of a sustained research effort over 4½ years by co-authors Brown and David Fleming. All work on the book was split 50:50 between them. It constitutes an extended and multi-layered, as well as multidisciplinary, investigation into a particular theme (cephalopods and/as media) across a range of contexts. Through analyses of a variety of media forms, primarily cinema, and drawing on examples from across the world, including Asia, Latin America, North America and Europe, the study provides a novel and complex engagement with contemporary media culture.
