- This paper combines 41 separate measurements and has led to a coherent and high-precision data set from HERA investigating the structure of the proton. Matthew Wing was part of the team that conceived the project, defined the scientific goals and analysis strategy and edited the paper. He led the review of this paper undertaken by the two scientific collaborations involved (about 300 scientists). This led to re-evaluation of some of the analysis, new procedures and amended text of the paper, all under his supervision.
