- Joint collaboration between the University of Hertfordshire, University of Edinburgh, and University of Luxembourg. The research which led to the published outputs was funded by EPSRC (Grant EP/N014073/1), in collaboration with Toshiba and Qinetiq, the UK India Education and Research Initiative, and from Luxembourg's National Research Fund (FNR) under project ECLECTIC. Motivated by the heterogeneous networks’ (HetNets), improvement in coverage and by millimeter-wave (mmWave) transmission offering an abundance of extra spectrum, the paper develops a general analytical framework to implement the downlink of practical mmWave HetNets consisting of K tiers of randomly located base stations.
