- This research work is attributed towards establishing a decision support system for novel wing building process using composite structures. The research work is significant, because it provided a coherent decision support system framework for considering post-manufacture (component and assembly level) measurement data for planning assembly build processes. This structured capability was missing when this research and development work was undertaken. The framework has subsequently been used by the industrial collaborator, Airbus UK for Advanced Low Cost Aircraft Structures (ALCAS) wing build philosophy at Airbus UK, to capture measurement data stream in the assembly build process.
