- Double-weighted statement
- Johnsons’ single-authored monograph addresses limitations in existing theorisations of sexuality derived from sociology and psychology. The book meets the criteria for double weighting as follows: it is a longer-form output reflecting a sustained effort in terms of original research in the theorisation of sexuality; it synthesises and examines a large body of material from a range of different perspectives and in considerable depth – an expanse of theoretical and empirical examples drawn from sociology, psychology, queer and cultural studies; and it establishes the tenets of a psychosocial manifesto informed by Johnson’s extensive investigation of a wide range of source materials.
