- This edition of the fragments and testimonia of the first century BCE historian Theophanes of Mytilene gives a revised critical text and Italian translation, with extensive introduction and commentary. For the first time it gives a full account of all the evidence bearing on the life and times of Theophanes, together with a reconstruction of his historical work set against the background of Graeco-Roman culture in the first century BCE, and taking full account of previous scholarship going back to the early modern period.
