- AIDS in the Shadow of Biomedicine is a book-length study of ca. 90.000 words. It is based on the collection and analysis of primary, multi-temporal, research, spread over a period of about 25 years. In preparation of the book the researcher spent a combined total of 30 months doing ethnographic fieldwork, between 1992 and 2017. The book was preceded by a number of shorter publications, and draws on arguments presented in these articles and chapters. But it presents a far more complex, multi-layered, and sustained analysis, and a novel critique of biopolitical paradigm in medical anthropology.
