- The research for The Philosophical Writings of Prémontval spanned six years, and near the end of its completion was supported by an institution-funded sabbatical. The book totals 190,000 words in all, and draws on all of the surviving manuscripts of Prémontval's writings, held at the Archiv der Berlin-Brandenburgischen Akademie der Wissenschaften, Berlin Staatsbibliothek, and the Biblioteka Jagiellońska in Kraków, as well as many rare and often-overlooked sources, in a variety of European languages. As befits a scholarly edition, the texts are meticulously documented with copious annotations and are prefaced by a substantial introductory essay.
