- This book of nearly 500 pages is based on research on the grammars of a selected number of French creoles over a period of four years. It entailed a detailed and thorough comparative description, analysis and discussion of a range of syntactic topics, and required extensive analysis of the macro and micro variations between the creoles spoken in different parts of the world, particularly the islands in the Atlantic, Indian, and Pacific Ocean, and of their relation to varieties of the French language.
