- This paper introduces a composite index for the resilience of road transport networks under disruptive events. It also investigates the impact of intelligent transport system on the efficiency of road transport network. In 2012, beating competition from hundreds of early-career researchers from across Europe, the first author was awarded a Gold Medal in the Young European Arena of Research competition for the work presented in this paper to enhance the resilience of transport systems under unexpected climate change-related events.
