- Smart homes are the focal point of intrusions. There is an immense demand for the robust and lightweight security solutions that can secure the smart homes. The lightweight scheme presented in this paper is one of the earliest works that proposed to use immutable silicon-ids to generate the authentication token for the devices in a home area network setting. Robustness of proposed mechanism is both specified and formally verified against the threat model. Real-time testbed implementation results demonstrated the potential and efficiency of this scheme for resource-hungry devices in smart-home settings.
