- This practice-based research project is framed and guided by the question:
To what extent do structured indeterminate procedures in musical composition share fundamental creative synergies with choreographic processes, and how are these influenced and shaped by performer perceptions in practice?
1. Creative Output
The research undertaken in response to this question resulted in as series of music/dance collaborative compositions Sound.points: Finding a place to be, comprising: (i) digital soundtrack; (ii) series of musical scores (iii) installation plus several performances.
2. Insights
The research opened new possibilities of creation for musical works and new avenues for testing/refining material through action research in joint dance/music workshops and rehearsals. It developed new music/dance intersections, developing the principle of performer inclusion into making both music and choreography and delivery at point of performance.
