- This substantial co-edited volume, one of a broader series of which one of the co-volume editors (Willison) is also the general editor, was jointly conceptualised between all three editors (Nash, Squires and Willison). Although the volume is in a series, there was not a pre-formulated structure for the volume, so initial editorial work included scoping the field, determining a structure and - in the early stage of the work - bringing together contributors for a workshop in order to discuss jointly what the volume would achieve as a whole. Decisions about all aspects of the volume were jointly shared between all three editors, with Nash and Squires leading on communications with authors, the publisher, and the editorial process. The lengthy introduction was co-written by all three editors. Squires’ further contributions to the volume include jointly authored chapters on ‘Authorship’ (co-authored 50%/50% with Nash), on ‘Reading and Ownership’ (co-authored 33%/33%/33% with Nash and Towheed), and on ‘Book Events, Book Environments’ (co-authored 50%/50% with Finkelstein).
