- This paper involved a collaboration with the University of Liverpool and VSL Infrastructure Protection Limited, with the experimental data collected as part of an EPSRC-funded project (EP/D041201/1). The paper developed and validated a modified model to predict better the energy absorption capacity of the material. The research is being taken up for defence applications of the material with interest from the British Army and Defence Science and Technology Laboratory, while the paper also provides a basis for further academic research on this and other concrete materials (most recently Huang, Z., et al, 15 March 2021, In: Engineering Structures. 231).
