- The research and writing of this 98,000-word transdisciplinary book occupied the duration of a three-year British Academy Postdoctoral Research Fellowship (2007-2010) and the subsequent three years. Its completion necessitated extensive research in a number of distinct fields and sub-fields (i.e., phenomenology; hermeneutics; aesthetics and the philosophy of art in both the continental and analytic/cognitive traditions; the philosophy of film; modern and contemporary film theory and criticism; narratology; fictional worlds theory) and an unusually large amount of translation/integration amongst their various concepts, intellectual traditions, and methodologies.
