- This monograph is the result of sustained research effort over six years, investigating Spanish Republican exile (1939) across different countries (Spain, France and Mexico) and generations of refugees. It provides a multi-layered analysis of primary sources that are difficult to access such as the bulletins produced in the internment camps in France and on ships during their perilous journey to America. The book undertakes the investigation of exile and the emergence of a cultural topology in great depth, detailing the transformation of the dehumanizing space of exile into habitable places from different theoretical perspectives (philosophy, anthropology, cultural geography).
