- Morley was solely responsible for conceiving, curating and editing this collection of original essays (pp. vi + 206) This included writing a 6,000 word chapter on architecture, memory and memorialisation (# 9) and writing a 9,000 word Introduction examining and interpreting the intellectual, political and cultural context of the volume. The collection stems from Morley's substantial body of research on post-9/11 American literature and draws together scholars from the U.K., Europe and North America. Morley developed the core concept and critical framework for the volume, wrote the book proposal, decided the structure, and carried out all editorial work, working with all 8 contributors and with the Bloomsbury Academic series editor. The book is the first major critical overview of American literature in the wake of the terrorist attacks of September 2001.
