- This paper establishes a connection between Ontology-Based Data Access (OBDA), a well-researched area in Knowledge Representation with hundreds of papers, and tens of systems and commercial products, and the emerging area of data analytics. It redefines OBDA settings and problems given data analytics assumptions. It provides decidability and complexity results and bounds of what is possible or not when combining these areas. It is the full version of a paper presented in IJCAI 2017 (https://www.ijcai.org/Proceedings/2017/170) and it has been recognised for its contribution in a survey conducted by researchers that originally created the OBDA area (https://dl.acm.org/doi/abs/10.5555/3304652.3304791).
