- Double-weighted statement
- This complex interdisciplinary (health informatics, geography and public health) study represents four years of computationally intensive research using individual and household level linked data. It explores associations between alcohol-related harms and changes in spatially modelled alcohol outlet density. The authors created a 6-year data set of > 100,000 alcohol related admissions for the adult population of Wales. Each person was anonymously linked to household alcohol outlet density profiles for every quarter during the study period, then linked to alcohol related hospital admissions and compared to the baseline population cohort. This was the first national level study of its kind.
