- Double-weighted statement
- This monograph is the result of 6 years of in-depth research into the works of three directors whose works span a period of over 20 years, 38 films in total. Moreover, the generic scope of the works covered (fiction film, documentary and installation) as well as the languages covered (English, French, Catalan, Basque and Spanish) required a sustained and lengthy period of analysis. This involved an extended and complex process, engaging with theoretical frameworks from psychoanalysis to phenomenology, as well as the socio-political and historical context of the construction of alternative national identities within Spain.
