- This 308-page volume critically appraises the significance of resurrection in the argument of Galatians. Scholarship on the epistle generally acknowledges the importance of resurrection in Pauline theology, but merely assumes that it occupies Paul’s thought in Galatians without offering persuasive reasons why. This volume contributes to the critical significance of the motif of revivification throughout the Pauline corpus and to key areas in which Pauline theology, Christology and soteriology are beholden to the grand narratives of Israel’s redemptive history. It offers nuanced answers to pivotal quandaries in New Perspective readings of Paul’s justification soteriology.
