- The only known publication globally on the application of dual innovative strengthening techniques (Carbon Fibre Reinforced Polymers; Post-Tensioned Metal Straps) to full scale frame buildings, subjected to severe simultaneous three-dimensional seismic actions. This novel experimental research has provided a step change in the seismic strengthening field by bringing new knowledge and understanding of the seismic performance of existing substandard reinforced concrete buildings strengthened with these techniques. The findings have a major influence on the future development of relevant design/strengthening guidelines for practical applications, the work of other researchers, and ultimately, the creation of a resilient and sustainable infrastructure to earthquakes.
