- This is the first paper that proposed generating bas-reliefs from normal image space. A literature review cited the work as reaching “very high standards” of technology (https://doi.org/10.1111/cgf.12781) and is cited by other researchers as “state of the art” (https://doi.org/10.1109/TVCG.2018.2818146). By working in the (normal) image space, the proposed method simplified bas-relief modelling and style control significantly, and can easily use popular image editing tools to edit the corresponding normal image of a bas-relief model.
