- Conceptualising The Global In The Wake Of The Postmodern: Literature, Culture, Theory, a 90,000-word monograph, draws on 6 years of research to engage with a large body of contemporary fiction, film, and philosophical/theoretical texts (the works of 15 authors and film makers are primarily addressed, but many others are covered along the way). It identifies four main categories under which concepts of the global can be placed – the immanent, the transcendent, the contingent and the beyond-measure – and maps its core theme from a range of perspectives, enabling extended engagement in critical debate.
