- Essays on James Clarence Mangan is a significant collection on Mangan – significant in that it is the first to exclusively focus on Mangan’s literary achievements. As well as editing the entire book (242pp.) and commissioning a foreword by Jacques Chuto and a poem by Paul Muldoon, written especially for the collection, Sturgeon wrote the introduction (13pp.) and contributed an original essay entitled ‘Night Singer: Mangan Among the Birds’ (22pp.).
