- Double-weighted statement
- I would like my 90.000 word monograph 'Public Secrets: race in colonial and independent Jamaica' to be double-weighted because it entailed the collection and analysis of a large body of material. Many of the primary sources used for this book were located in Jamaica, necessitating several lengthy research trips and prolonging the data gathering process. My book also covers an understudied period of Jamaican history (1918-1980), engages with Critical Race Theory, and includes a chapter that explores contemporary conditions and offers policy recommendations, all of which increased the time needed to research and write it.
