- Additional information
- Monsters, Dinosaurs, Ghosts was produced by the Abbey Theatre (Dublin) and ran from 4-27 June 2015 for 22 performances. It set a new box-office record for the Peacock stage, the Abbey's smaller auditorium. McAleavey’s role as a writer was to continue to rewrite the play during the crucible of rehearsals, negotiating the ambitions and strengths of the director and cast. He was interviewed on national radio, and for blogs and print media and was contacted later to take part in a radio news programme on recent republican killings, where the play was seen as prophetic. As another marker of esteem, the play was published by Methuen Drama (Bloomsbury) in 2015.
