- This robust and real-time simulation environment integrating both a physical platform and immersive virtual environment reduces training times, costs and risks to patients.
The design and evaluation of the platform was based on a detailed expert cognitive task analysis, which identified the functionalities and metrics required including using patient-specific data modeling and deformation of organ motion and haptic rendering.
The simulator has undergone an exhaustive study of the face, content and construct simulator published in Br J Radiol. doi:10.1259/bjr/47436030 that demonstrates the reliability and effectiveness of this framework and its potential for teaching visceral needle puncture.
