- This book was the result of 7 years work with the Wellcome funded, interdisciplinary, Hearing the Voice project at Durham University. The central theme of the book – auditory verbal hallucinations in Christian religious context – has been investigated in depth from multiple disciplinary perspectives, including those of biblical studies, history, studies of religious/mystical experience, science, and theology. In support of this the book draws on a large literature from these varied disciplines and, additionally, the interdisciplinary literature on science and theology.
