- This book (783 pages, 426 illustrations) is based on the 15-year long Irish Viking Graves Project, and gives a comprehensive description and interpretation of all 107 Viking graves from Ireland and their 486 accompanying grave goods. It includes the first systematic study of the National Museum of Ireland's nineteenth-century archive, and uses this large dataset to establish provenances for many antiquarian finds. It also includes the results from a wide range of legacy and unpublished excavations. As well as the detailed catalogue, a series of detailed and thorough synthetic discussions assess the material in its national and international context.
