- The paper reported one of the first experiments using EDXD and DIC simultaneously to map deformation around a crack tip on the surface (2D) and interior (3D) of a specimen. A result of a collaborative research programme involving Universities of Portsmouth and Oxford (UK), East China University of Sci & Tech (China) and Diamond Light Source (UK). This was made possible by an award of beam time at Diamond Light Source (EE13579).
