- This paper introduced a method for underwater image dehazing. It was significant as it developed a novel way to estimate the veiling light in underwater images and overcame limitations in previous approaches. The work was an interdisciplinary collaboration with the co-authors being experts in the domains of Computer Vision (Andrea Cavallaro - Professor of Multimedia Signal Processing) and Sensory Ecology (Lars Chittka - Professor of Sensory and Behavioural Ecology).
