- This research impacts the state of the art as the synthesis method demonstrated has now been adopted by many groups worldwide. The international collaboration work reported in the paper has contributed to the successful joint grant applications to the Royal Society/Newton Fund and the NSF of China, by Prof Lin and Prof Sun, with a Newton Advanced Fellowship (£111K) and a NSFC matching grant (RMB500K). This paper was selected as a HOT article by the journal of Energy & Environmental Science in 2019.
