- Double-weighted statement
- I would like my 150,000-word monograph 'Israel in the American Mind: The Cultural Politics of US-Israeli Relations, 1958-1988' to be double-weighted because it entailed the collection and analysis of a large and diverse body of material. The multi-language primary sources were located in various archives and libraries in the United States and Israel, necessitating several lengthy research trips and the translation of thousands of documents, prolonging the data gathering process. And the book’s novel methodological approach –analysing cultural studies and diplomatic history in tandem –, and the relatively long period in diplomatic history terms extended the analysis and writing process.
