- This work was selected by Applied Physics Letters as the subject of a press release and was covered by six new outlets (https://aip.altmetric.com/details/15200844/news). This work led to further funding from The Boeing Company to further investigate technologies for the use of bulk superconductors in motors (£303,054 - contact details available), and it led to an exploratory project with UKAEA on using this technology for non-destructive testing with an Electro Magnetic Acoustic Transducer (EMAT) (contact details available), which was successful in demonstrating EMAT in Titanium. This work was the subject of an invited talk at ICMC-CEC 2017 https://indico.cern.ch/event/578092/contributions/2537662/.
