- This paper establishes with rigour the relations between discovered biological and engineering features in order to solve problems that exist in the current wave energy converter (WEC) designs and utilises new generic engineering rules based on biomimetic ideas to design the next generation of WECS. A first of its kind on WECS development, it includes work done as part of EPSRC grants EP/E040136/1 and EPSRC GR/S26958/01 and led directly to the award of two new grants from the Chinese NNSFC, grants no 50675196 and 50675197.
