- This paper presented the first experimental proof-of-concept demonstration of propulsion utilizing a dynamic change in shape during the stroke cycle. With potential applications in medical diagnostics and environmental testing, this work formed the basis of a £30,000 SetSquared ICURe grant examining routes to commercial exploitation. The paper formed the basis of 6 subsequent papers and has been cited by groups in Oxford (UK), Max Planck Society (Germany), CNRS (France) and Hebei University (China).
