- Stuart Style covers close to 130 years (1566-1701) and spans two of the three Stuart Kingdoms, Scotland and England. It draws on extensive archival research undertaken in Scottish and English record offices, as well as engaging with visual sources and extant clothing from the period. At 120,000 words in twelve chapters, and incorporating 120 images, representing a selection of the visual sources used, Stuart Style presents the first analysis of Stuart clothing that re-writes the Scottish contribution back into the fashion narrative which is central to the political, social and cultural history of the period.
